Fishing has been pretty good, caught 6-8 Kings on the shelf first thing in the am and then later in the evening. My best has been Spin Doctors with meat and some of the big paddles. The flys has also been working. The bigger fish have been coming on these rigs. The best steelhead fishing has beenoff shore later in the am, the steel head have been nice sized. We had one weighed in at 18 lbs. The best steelhead lures are Super Slims running fast speeds.

Don't have to fish for the next few days but it suppose to be pretty nice out as far as weather is concerned. so I won't be up dating the page till the end of the week. Fishing was awesome today. I was all done and back at the dock by 10:30am. I had 5 customers on board today. The Kings are here. Most were in the 10-15 lb range. I did land one that was 18lbs. Most of the fish were around the Harbor today and the majority of the hits were on a Chrome/blue Spin Doctor.

Fishing was good today. I had a half day trip and landed 20 fish. There is a lot of bait in and around the harbor.

I have not been fishing lately, been on vacation. Will be back fishing on Friday. The Kings fishing is pretty good. Limits being caught in 100-200 ft of water straight out. Will be updating the fishing report again after Friday.

Yesterday and today was awesome fishing. Landed over 24 fish each day. There are some really nice sized kings showing up too. One was 21 lbs. Looks like the fish are running bigger this year.

Fishing has been good for Browns, about 1/3 of the fish caught today were browns the rest are Lake Trout and is there ever a lot of them around. It didn't seem to matter where I fished, either north or south we were hitting fish in about 10ft of water using Rapala's and a Super Slim Green dolphin. All on the surface.

Good news the Browns are here. Heard a real good report today they have been catching Browns and Lake Trout off the pier and in boats. There has been a 22 lb. and a 17 lb. caught. Been some perch being caught too.

Fishing has been tough. The fish seem to be on the gravel beds. Been getting lots of sucker thou. Had several hits yesterday but was only able to land 1 Lake Brown. some of the clients been missin em. I am going to be going down to Michigan city, IN and fishing the tournament this Friday and Saturday then coming home. I will probably put the Lake boat in on Sunday. Now since the weather is starting to straighten out. Not many dates open in July and August so if you are thinking about booking a trip now is the time to do so. Only 4 Saturdays open from May thru September. There are a few half days in the afternoon left in August.

Still fishing in the River. Fishing has been excellent. Limits, Been hooking up with 15-20 fish per trip. Looks like it should remain good for the next few weeks. Fish are nice and silver.
The Browns are starting to show up in lake Mich. Even catching a few lake brown in the river. The brown fishing should be getting good providing the winds die down. Both north and south have been good fishing. Most browns been running 2-5 lbs. Nothing big yet.

The prime of the Steelhead run in here and now. Fishing was good in the river. We landed a limit of Steelhead plus released a few too. Fishing is picking up in the Lake as well. I did post a few new pictures on the photo section of the page.

Fished in the river this am and then switched over to the Lake. I was using my river boat since it was nice and calm. We ended up landing 6 browns and a nice Steelhead. In just a few short hours. It was really nice out today. Fishing was the best north today, by the water tower. There was only a few boats out. I hit all the fish in one pass.

Fishing was good today. Landed 6. Plus lost a few. Mostly females. I posted a few new pictures from yesterday and then of today. Yesterday I had most of the river to myself. Not much traffic. Got to fish all weekend. Fishing has been tough. Only been landing a few fish a trip. The main run still has not came in. The weather has been really weird. I did post some new pic on the photo page. I am almost booked up now thru the end of the month. I will be getting my big boat ready for the Lake soon. check out the pics from the last few day. When I have been fishing I have been catching mostly Males, hard to come across a female lately. The water did warm up today. It was good fishing for a change. Landed 6, lost 5. The Browns are also starting to show up. Been hearing a few guys picking up a few. Looks good from here on out.

Fishing is tough right now. The river is dirty and high, but is starting to receed. All is ice is now gone. There waas quite a bit of boat traffic in the am, but it did thin out in the after noon. we had a few hits we did miss too. Here is a pic of TJ and John.

Wow what a nice day yesterday. It was in the 40's here and we lost almost all of the snow. I can see grass in the yard. The river is still froze but will be opening up soon with weather like this. I did snap a few pics of the lake and down by the marina. I do have a trip this week, weather permitting. I have heard a few fish being taken on Lake Manistee (Steelhead) and some good reports on Pike on Hamilin Lake along with a few perch being taken by Seng's marina. If I do go later in the week I will post a new report.

Steelhead fishing is getting good. The last time I fished landed 5 and we quit early. All pretty nice sized. 7-8lb each. There is a lot of fish in the Lake Michigan. I spoke to a few different people and they have been killin em out there. The best river fishing is yet to come. This colder weather we are getting should help bring them in.

We had a hard rain this morning so it was a little tougher fishing. Landed 4 today and lost about 4-5. All Steelhead on spawn.Yesterday we had super day 12 fish in the boat. Looks like there is going to be a little more rain for Saturday.

Fishing is about the same, landed 6 yesterday and got 6 today. The Steelhead should be moving in soon. With the weather cooling off should be good. I have the next 2 days off so there will be no updated report. I will post some pictures later today under the photo section.

Been fishing almost every day in the river. Yesterday we landed 6. All kings. Most are quite dark. There is a ton of fish holding up in Lake Manistee. You can see them surfacing. With this change of weather I think fishing will only get better. Had a good report of Steelhead being caught on the shelf too.

Landed 9 fish today. Fishing is tough but still catching some decent numbers. Have to work for them. All fish came on spawn today under floats. Covering lots of water. The run is not even near being done. An occasional Steelhead being caught too. With this warm weather fishing could be tough. It is suppose to be like this all week. But who knows thats why its called fishing and not catching.

Fishing was a little slow today. Ended up landing 5. One day I will have a good day and then the next is slower. Still quite a bit of traffic. The holes have really changed since the storm we had in early June. A lot of the holes are no longer there and the river is really low. I have been putting together a new KRW fly. It is called DAY BREAK. It is blue, white glow and crinkle ice in color with a white glow head. KRW has had three new flies out since August. This new one is not yet available. I am still working on them. So watch for them in stores.

Fishing in the river has been pretty good for the most part. Been using spawn and lures both. Some nice sized fish. There seems to be a lot up the river and even more at the mouth of Manistee Lake. Sort of heavy boat traffic. I just posted a few pics of yesterdays catch under the photo section. I am currently book for the rest of the month, but I do have openings in Oct. if you are interested. Rates in the river start at $350 for two persons.

Fishing was tough this am, plus rough with about 5ft swells, my fisherman did not do well. We ended up landing 3 fish before coming in early. Not a lot of fish around today. A lot of the fish are holding in Manistee Lake, there is also a lot of boats fishing in there in the morning and evening. On Monday will be my first River trip. I have heard good reports up the river so will give it a shot.

Fishing is still good. A bit tougher than it has been, but still catching limits. The fish are coming down deep about 70-150 ft down. Still running flasher and flies. The White Dream Weaver paddle with the silver waffle tape and the RIVERSIDE FLY.

The best fishing is about 150-180ft of water, south of the pier heads. Running Dreamweaver new big white paddle and a Riverside fly behind was the best lure today. The fish came anywhere from 50-100 ft. down. Limited out today. Landed one over 25 lbs. today.
Here is a pic of another limit of fish taken this am. Was even hitting fish when pulling lines. Will be back at it again this afternoon.

Fishing is good. Fish coming from anywhere between 80-120ft down. Spin doctors and the Riverside Fly. Wind is out of the north right now 12:30pm,the thermal cline will probably move back up.

Fishing was good this morning. Fishing south of pier heads in 150ft water. The fly bite is back on. Flasher/fly program. The best fly was the Riverside,behind a big white flasher. Down 100ft. Been working on a new fly today. It is like the Riverside but instead of green it is royal blue, ran with blue beads. There is one guy testing it and he claims it was hot for some nice Coho. I do not know for sure when it will be avail. Just testing the proto type now.

There is fish around the Harbor and the shoreline. The bite is best early and then again late in the evening. Fishing is tough. The weather has been to calm. Most fish coming on Silver Horde blue splatter plugs.

Fishing has been tough the last 3-4days. The fish are scattered. From the shoreline to way out. A lot of fish being caught around the pier heads. But I have been going out to 150-200ft catching 8-15 fish a trip. Mostly all plug fishing. Blue and glow and back and silver and green and glow. The fish seem to be high up.

The fish are in the Harbor. Loaded on catching them on Silver Hoarde Plugs a variety of colors.comin 10-15 ft down. But as soon as the wind switches to the SW it will change the fishing. A lot of cold water in towards the shore.

The fish are in the harbor and along the shoreline. 48 degree surface water at this time. Still getting fish out in the deeper water like 150ft. Fish are everywhere. Same program flashers and flies. I think you could catch them on anything right now. Been limiting out twice a day. Some fish also coming on Silver Horde's, all GLOW. Be sure to check out the photo section. Fishing was good again. Both in the am and the pm. The hot fly today was the Tillmans Tambo with a black flasher. The Harbor fishing is picking up too. This young gal tonight caught over a 24 lb. Salmon.

Wow what a rough one this am. The water is really mixed up and cold. There is fish being caught out in 200ft of water. The harbor is holding a few fish but if the wind goes to the south it will be done. Amy's Baby is still hot.

Wow, was fishing good today! Had 23 fish in the boat and on the way back to the dock by 8am. What a day. Fishing straight out of Manistee in 70-100 ft of water. Fish are everywhere. From Manistee to about 8 miles south. The fish are high in the early morning and then go deeper as the sun comes up. Fishing any where from 30-70 ft down. Using Spin Doctors and KRW Flies. Been only running three flies, the Aqua Gold Glow, Riverside, and Amy's baby. All fish have been coming on these. I will be back at it again this afternoon. Here is a fish from last night it weighed over 23 lb.s

Fishing is really good. Been limiting out twice a day. Right now a person only needs to have two flies on board the KRW Riverside and the KRW Amy's Baby, these two flies have been catching most of my fish.

Are you guys ready??? The new KRW Amy's baby should be hitting the shelf's soon. I have been tieing several hundred the last few days. This has been an awesome fly. It has a clear head and it is crinkle ice with mirage material. What ever beads you put with it has a totally different effect. It has been a hot fly the last week or so. It will be on the market in the next few days. It is best ran when the sun it up. I am totally booked from now till Labor Day so I will be hard to get ahold of. Fishing is still good. I have heard really good reports from Muskegon, Pentwater and Ludington today. Most capts. in by 10am or so with their limit. Fishing was good again today. Fishing in 170 ft-200 foot of water. Fishing 50-150 ft. down. Using Spin Doctors with Aqua Gold Glow KRW Flies and the Riverside flies. Also a Crome & Blue Flasher with the Aqua Meat rigs. Tomorrow is the last day of the tournament in Manistee. Today I weighed in one fish, so that means I have to weigh in two tomorrow. Watch for the new KRW Fly comig out later this week. It will be called Amy's Baby, I have been testing it for a few days and it is on fire.

The Riverside girls were RED HOT today. With 4 girls on board we limited out in no time and was back at the dock early. The fish were weighed in and they walked away with the first place prize. $1,000 plus a huge trophy. A good time was had by all. I will post the pics of this as soon as the camera comes back home. I have been in Ludington for the past few days for this tournament and first thing in the am, at the shot gun start I point the boat back towards Manistee. Most of my fish have been in the 7-11 numbers and coming on KRW flies, the Riverside.

Out of Ludington for my first trip in the tournment weekend. I fished the Rouboy tourn. Placed 6th. I fished with 4 kids between the ages of 9-12. Plus a little help from there dads. We had Cody, Cheyanne, Anna and Lilly on board. These kids had the time of there life so far. At one point they had 4 fish on at once and several double headers. The weather was perfect for kids, except the lighting for a short while. We had our limit of fish again. All of the fish were in the 15lb range. I will post the pics later.

Fishing is good a lot of bigger kings from the 15-18 lb range. Fishing on the shelf 130-180 ft of water. Using magnum diver with a Mt. Dew e chip or a Riverside fly from KRW. Today we limited out on a half day trip. A great day overall.

Steelhead fishing has been pretty good. Fishing in 400 ft of water. Most of the fish have been coming in the top 20ft. The Yeck Fireballs and the DreamWeaver Super Swim Steelie Stomper have been some pretty hot lures. Fishing looks good for Steelies for the next few weeks.

We had a lot of hits the last few days but landing them was another story. They seemed to be hitting short. Have been fishing out in the deep water and also just on the out side of the shelf. Most of all the fish (Steelhead) are about the same size. right around 9 lbs. During the womens tourn. a few really nice Lake Trout were taken, weighing in about 17 lbs. We ended up placing 6th place in the girls tourn. Which was one place out of the money. There are not as many people coming to fish this weedend tournaments. I would have to believe due to the ecomony. The weather was really nice all weekend with little wind. Most of the hits came on KRW flies and a few on spoons. No particular bait was working, most of the hits came on the small boards.

Fishing is really starting to pick up. The king numbers are good right now, with limit catches not uncommon along with Lake Trout. The Steelhead are just starting to show up, so this summer is starting to look shape up. Everything was later than normal this year. If you need a place to stay while you are in Manistee or the area don't forget we have the condo for rent. It is a 3 bedroom, 6 bed facility with two bathrooms and full kitchen. The rates depend on the number of people and the length of the stay and the time of year. So if you are intersted let me know. It is almost completely booked for August.

Had a great day fishing today. We landed 17. The conditions were perfect. We caught a mixture of fish.
Had a good day today. Ended up landing 9 fish total. the weather was great also. Fishing has been tough in the lake lately. There has not been a lot of people fishing. I think there are a few factors that are contributing to that, such as the 16 loose Indian nets that are floating around lost with no bouys on, the price of fuel and the weather has really sucked. It is suppose to be a nice weekend this up coming one, if it is that will be a first. Fishing up the river is really tough right now. Been doing good in the Lake, catching a variety of fish. Had a really nice 12 lb Brown yesterday and a King. Plus a few other fish. This spring is looking good.

Well the Browns are final starting to show up. Looks like it could be a good year, at least better than it has been. I will be dropping the lake boat in the next few days. River fishing has been tough, seen over 30 boats on Saturday near the damn. Too much fishing pressure.

I know there has been no update on the fishing report lately, I have been on vacation. Not much to report. We have had a lot of rain and the river is high and muddy. Not the best fishing conditions. fishing was good today in the lower end of the river. We landed 7. it should remain good, the nights have been cold so the fish are holding.all hits came on spawn again. Light boat traffic.
Fishing was really slow today, only landed one, but we missed a few others. Over all a really nice day out on the water. I think the fish must be moving. I spoke with others today and most all were skunked so I wasn't the only one having a slow day. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

Fishing was pretty good today, we landed 6. Had to put in on the upper end and come down. We had quite a few more on that we didn't land. I have to fish the next few days. All hits came on spawn with floaters. Boat pressure was light which makes it nice.

We fished the tourn. in Wellston this past weekend. Fishing was tough, the ice conditions were kind of bad. We landed 4 but had another 2 on. There were about 125 people in the tourn. but only 26 fished weighed in. And most were small. We were lucky to land the ones we did. Hopefully the fishing should get better.

Fishing was red hot again yesterday. We limited out again. Steelhead fishing is as good as your ever going to see right now. There is fishing everywhere in the river. I am averaging 20-30 hook ups per trip. We also did some catching and releasing too.All hits on spawn. If there is no report for days at a time or even longer that means I have not fished, so I don't update the report.

Had a good day today. We landed 50 % 0f the fish, whichd ended up being 6. So we lost 6. Was a nice day on the river and not much traffic. Most of the fish can on spawn in pink bags w/ a few floaters. The largest fish of the day did come on a green/gold willy worm.
